• Description:
• United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) has a requirement for the provision of Door-to-door Sea freight forwarding and related services. Contractors will also be required to provide sea freight, terminal handling Services, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), associated labor, warehousing and yard storage, temporary bonded facilities, customs clearance, and close liaison with various Government authorities to support inland movement of cargo.UNSOS intends to enter a three-year (3) contract with an option to extend for another 1 + 1 year at the sole discretion of the UN, extension of UNSOS-s mandate and satisfactory performance of the vendor.The Contractor shall provide door-to-door transportation of United Nations Owned Equipment (UNOE) and Contingent Owned Equipment (COE) from point-of-origin to different destinations. This sometimes shall require multimodal transport.The types of consignment encompassed by the Services will include military equipment, dangerous goods, vehicles, heavy equipment, UNOE, COE, temperature-sensitive and general cargo, personal effects, and household goods.
